An opening batsman, Babar Azam was the leading run-getter in the tri-series which also involved Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Under-19 in 2009. He was subsequently picked for the Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. He was Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in the tournament with 298 runs. His favorite shot is the cover drive and has singled out AB de Villiers as his cricketing hero.
He will be representing Islamabad United during PSL Season 1.
