The Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Quetta Gladiators have signed up Sri Lankan star all-rounder Thisara Perera and England fast-bowler Jade Dernbach in place of West Indies’ Jason Holder, who was forced to miss Pakistan Super league (PSL) after his no objection certificate request was rejected by West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
Spokesman for Quetta Gladiators briefed on double signing :
“As far as the double signings are concerned, it is here clarified that both have been signed on partial availability. Perera will be with the side for initial stage of the PSL but will leave once the series between India and Sri Lanka begins in mid February. Once Perera is out on national duty, Dernbach will walk in to beef up the Gladiators,”
Head coach Moin Khan was delighted with the double signings stating that both were capable of winning matches on their day. Perera is an important part of Sri Lankan ODI and T20I sides and has played six Tests, 110 one-dayers and 42 T20Is for his country. The 26-year-old Perera, who has turned up in IPL, Big Bash, SLPL and CPL in his career, has played 141 domestic T20 matches so far in which he has picked up 130 wickets while he has scored 1569 runs with two fifties to his credit.
On the other hand, Dernbach has 117 scalps from 108 domestic T20 matches with two four-wicket hauls while he has played 24 ODIs and 34 T20Is for England. Gladiators already have a star-studded squad with multinational key players. Check out the Gladiators Team Details or Squad of Quetta Gladiators
