Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will not allow young left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rehman to participate in the inaugural edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
According to the BCB chairman Akram Khan, the move comes after the 20-year-old got injured in the second T20 against Zimbabwe on Sunday.
“The board has decided to keep him [Mustafizur] away from the PSL. The board president too has agreed to compensate him in case of him not participating in the tournament,” said Khan.
Mustafizur Rehman was bagged by Lahore Qalandars for 50,000 $ and this news of BCB stopping him is certainly very devastating for qalandars’ fans. Furthermore, the former Bangladesh captain said that the rookie fast-bowler, if he stays fit, will not be stopped from taking part in the Indian Premier League(IPL) as the tournament will be organised after World T20.
“IPL is a very high profile tournament that features the biggest names of world cricket, So playing there in India and sharing a dressing room with the superstars would be a great learning curve for our players. The IPL will take place after the World T20. And during that time we don’t have any international series or commitments. So if he stays fit, he might get a chance.”
